A noise barrier (also called a sound wall, noise wall, sound barrier, or acoustical barrier) is an exterior structure designed to protect inhabitants of sensitive land use areas from noise pollution.
To protect humans and other living beings from the roadway / railway or any heavy machine noise, these noise barriers are installed between noise source & receiver.
Also, in some cases, the best solution to curb noise transmission between two buildings / activities would be to install a noise barrier.
Noise barriers reduce noise pollution enormously on motorways and highways with heavy traffic, dual carriage ways and railways and give the people in the neighborhood a new feeling of life. Nice and quiet instead of an annoying noise.
